One common complaint about CMS systems in the market place is that they are not flexible enough to allow complex designs. PhatCMS provides a very flexible framework and each element of the sites layout can be changed to provide an entirley different look and feel.
Multi Tier Navigation
PhatCMS offers 3 tiers of navigation hierarchy, top level only, 1 level of dropdown menus, or 2 level dropdown menus. The position of the main navigation element can be changed to suit your design and amount of content, in a vertical or horizontal fashion.
Navigation Elements
There are navigation elements available within PhatCMS to make content easier to find for your users. This includes "breadcrumb" navigation which shows the user at the top of the page where in the site they are. When users navigate to a section, an additional “In this section” navigation element will show your users other content within that section.
Additional Navigation Elements
There are also side navigation elements for the cart catalogue if enabled, and also a separate navigation element for any catalogue items which are currently on special.
Subscription and Newsletter Mailing System
Users can subscribe and unsubscribe to lists that are setup within the PhatCMS administration. Mailing Lists are managed via the admin, and the mailing system is fully anti-spam compliant, giving users a direct link in any mail sent via the system to unsubscribe at any time.
ASP.Net Dynamic Form Validation
All forms are validating using ASP.Net’s validation methods; operate inline with the browser content and without post-back to the server.
Login and user levels
PhatCMS has the ability to allow users to login to PhatCMS to perform certain tasks. The login element can be turned off and on quite easily for security purposes. There are currently 4 different user levels within PhatCMS. Subscribers, Users/Customers, CMS administration users and Site Administrators.
Subscribers can update their email address and mailing lists. User/customers can update their details stored within PhatCMS, and has the ability to load those details into the cart checkout process. CMS administrators can add, edit and delete sections, sub sections, content and files, while site administrators have access to other functions for PhatCMS management. The user system can be easily extended to handle groups, and individual access to PhatCMS elements, at extra cost.
Users can also request their password resent to their email address if forgotten, and front end customer account creation can be turned on or off depending you’re your needs.
Once logged in, users can update their details, view their orders and accrued customer loyalty points, or continue to shop within your PhatCart catalogue without having to re-enter details, if they choose so. The user system can be extended to any required specification at extra cost.
XML and RSS feeds
PhatCMS exports a few different xml feeds for the rapidly expanding RSS market, including a news feed, which grabs the latest content items saved to your PhatCMS, or individual content section feeds. These feeds are automatically rebuilt whenever a CMS admin makes changes or additions to the site.
Site Search
PhatCMS comes with a multi keyword search element, which searches all content, catalogue items if the PhatCart is activated. Search can easily be extended for more advanced features like file field searching, multiple field searches, ranked results etc, at extra cost.
Content Page Features
Content can be categorized into different content types, including blogs, news or standard content items. Content can also be taken offline at anytime, but still exist within the CMS system. Each content item has additional elements like the Send to friend feature which allows users to send a link to your content, print this page feature, which offers a plain printable page, and also links to edit the content and upload files within the content if you are logged in as a CMS admin.
Pages can list sub sections, and then sub section content items listings, for easy navigation and section content overview.
Blog Commenting
NEW! PhatCMS allows users of your website to comment on blog content. This is anti-spam enabled, allowing only one post per day from one IP address.
Archival of Content
PhatCMS can be setup to archive content after a certain amount of time. Content Pages can be set to be non achievable for pages like website terms and conditions. Archive periods are 1, 2 and 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, or no archiving at all. Archives will only appear within navigation if there are archived items to show.
Content Audit and Version Control
PhatCMS has a built in content audit and version system which allows PhatCMS customers the ability to rollback to previous versions of saved content.
W3C XHTML and CSS compliance
Every page within PhatCMS is fully W3C XHTML and CSS valid and any content inserted into the CMS system is also XHTML compliant. Sites can also be compliant with W3C Web Accessibility Initiative guidelines.
Security Features
Key Query strings are encrypted with RC2 utilizing variable key-size block cipher and unique keys for individual application installations. PhatCMS also features optional blob file storage, meaning all files except images are be stored in the database, without files residing on the server within a file directory structure.
PhatCMS Mailing system
PhatCMS includes a complete anti-spam compliant mailing system, which is totally integrated with both PhatCMS and PhatCart. Automation available at extra cost for very large mailing lists.
WYSIWYG Content Management
PhatCMS utilizes FCKeditor, one of the best inline WYSIWYG HTML editors available. This allows word processor like control over content, and inline file management, making inserting file content within your page content extremely easy, while offering advanced content management features for advanced users.
Content Attachments
PhatCMS allows CMS admin users to upload attachments to content, stored either as files or blobs (Binary Large Objects) within the database. These can be indexed and searchable, at extra cost. Thumbnails are automatically created for image files. There is also a file description field. Additional fields can be added for advanced searching at extra cost.
Error Trapping and Tracking
PhatCMS has an integrated error trapping and tracking system, allowing site administrators and CWS webmasters to receive email on errors, view the errors within the admin, and correct any problems. If in the case of a SQL error, the SQL query is stored with the error, for easy re-execution.
Friendly Error Messages
PhatCMS has a friendly error display system, so your users are always pleasantly informed when a mistake has been made for example with an incorrect login, or when data has been successfully saved after the user has updated their details for example.
Basic Views Statistics for content pages
PhatCMS tracks the number of views for each content item. Views can be reset on all content globally, or on individual content items. This can be extended to track advanced users details at extra cost.
Delete Warnings
When deleting certain things within the CMS, PhatCMS offers the user a confirm screen with a large warning message explaining what they are about to do, allowing users to opt out of the call to action.
Sitemap and Feed Rebuild
Sitemap and feeds are automatically rebuilt on any content modification. If however you need to rebuild the sitemap and feeds, you can force them to be rebuilt within the CMS admin.
Google and MSN Maps Module
Create unlimited Google or MSN Maps using our Maps module. You can create an intercative map with a location point and formatted information box, zoom level and your choice of map type all without writing any code. Great for real estate sites and distributors who want to show the locations of their retailers.
PhatCart Catalogue and Cart System
PhatCMS has a built in catalogue and cart module (PhatCart), allowing your customers to setup e-stores with ease. PhatCart features include:
